The California ISO is preparing the launch of several transformative initiatives which will introduce changes to the day-to-day market operations. To support Scheduling Coordinators (SCs) in navigating these changes, we’re offering a markets-focused refresher training session on April 20, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Pacific. This session builds upon previous foundational training sessions and will focus on specific topics resulting from the upcoming activation of:

  • Day-Ahead Market Enhancements (DAME)
  • Extended Day-Ahead Market (EDAM)
  • EDAM ISO Balancing Authority Area Participation Rules

What topics will be covered?   

This class will provide refresher overviews on the following topics: 

  • Market Pricing
  • Market Timelines and Processes
  • Software Application Changes
  • Transfer System Resources
  • Imbalance Reserves
  • Reliability Capacity
  • Ancillary Services
  • Bidding basics
  • Resource Sufficiency Evaluation (RSE) 

Who should attend?

The primary audience for this training is the personnel of SCs operating within the ISO Balancing Authority Area, those planning to participate in EDAM, and anyone engaged in Western energy markets who wants to stay informed.

Even if your organization does not plan to participate in EDAM immediately, this session offers valuable insights to help you prepare for future involvement.
